Lamont Pitt was born and raised in Chesapeake, Virginia where he completed grades K – 12. As a young adult, Lamont joined the U.S. Navy but later turned to the “fast life” and began selling drugs. Upon being indicted and ultimately convicted, he was sentenced and served 14 years in a federal penitentiary.
While in prison, Lamont obtained a certification in cooking and catering and fitness and nutrition from Stratford Career Institute. He also used that time to reflect on his poor choices and became determined to correct his wrongs in the community. Once released from prison and after relocating to Charlotte, North Carolina in 2008, he married his wife, Monica. Together, they have six children and eight grandchildren.
Ultimately, Lamont’s passion for positively impacting the lives of at-risk youth led him to founding P.I.T.T. – Positive Inspiration to Transform Together, a nonprofit organization that serves disadvantaged youth. Lamont serves as an Impact Leader for P.I.T.T., where he meets and mentors boys and girls impacted by crime and poor decisions. Lamont’s ultimate goal is to develop a partnership with identified youth to guide and assist them as they navigate the world at their young ages.
